SCHENECTADY -- Young musicians are learning from the masters at the Jazz Institute at Proctors.
The institute began its second week Monday. The students perform at 7 p.m. Friday in Proctors' GE Theatre.
Saxophonist and instructor Keith Pray and Arthur Falbush, music professor at SUNY Oneonta, lead a group of instructors covering classes that use no sheet music. Students learn through one-on-one attention and improvisation exercises.
Special guest is saxophonist Jerry Weldon.
