In today's Wall Street Journal, I interview painter Jamie Wyeth—whose grandfather was famed illustrator N.C. Wyeth and whose father was Andrew Wyeth. Jamie's first retrospective is now on exhibit at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts through December 28. I drove up from New York to have a look at the exhibit and was stunned. The range of works and the power of Jamie's paintings are staggering. [Photo above of Jamie Wyeth in Maine by Bob O'Connor forThe Wall Street Journal]
I spoke with Jamie about what life was like growing up in Chadds Ford, Pa., in a household of artists (his two uncles and aunts also earned their living as painters) and how he fared spending so much time at home. After all, his father pulled him out of school after the sixth grade so Jamie could paint all day and be home-schooled.
