Favorite music besides classical:jazz: Miles, Coltrane, Monk, Evans (piano), Ellington, Basie, Armstrong. Also Jolson, Klezmer and Broadway (any period before it turned to rock).
Favorite book: Moby Dick: as complex, engaging and rewarding as Wagnerian opera.
Currently reading. Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy. I'm not a big sci-fi fan but I'm enjoying these page turners.
Favorite Movies: King Kong (1933),Metropolis, Citizen Kane, Gunga Din, On the Waterfront, East of Eden, Brazil. Most works by John Ford, James Whale, Tim Burton, Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy.
Favorite date night/place in Tampa Bay: Paci's Pizza across from Plant High School. Authentic Brooklyn style.
Some little-known, yet interesting fact about me: I'm a rail fan, especially about the New York subway system, on which I've been writing a book.
My nickname for my instrument is:Siegfried's Rhinefahrt
My favorite piece to play on my instrument: John Cage's 4'33".
