(Greenwood Lake, NY - November 11, 2015) Local Hudson Valley area free- improv jazz quartet INNERrOUTe releases highly anticipated 2nd CD entitled FOURMATION on Planet Arts (PA301554), street date October 15, 2015.
The evening when the quartet consisting of Rick Savage (Highland Lakes, NJ), Joe Vincent Tranchina (Greenwood Lake, NY), Bill McCrossen (formerly of Washingtonville, NY) and Michael D’Agostino (West Milford, NJ) played for the first time, they all felt something remarkable was happening. Meeting regularly over the following few years, their connection grew both musically and personally. Their first self-titled release, INNERrOUTe, was the culmination of those early years. Then, after a period of favorable reviews, gigging, and a live radio performance on WKCR in NYC, the band ventured back into the studio to stretch the boundaries of their growing collective improvisational skills. Consequently, producing FOURMATION, a slice of one night’s music in the life of INNERrOUTe. The collective’s expressed mind set is “Every time we get together, it’s to get out of the way, allowing a whole new fount of ideas to flow through us, never the same; that’s the beauty of our music.”
The latest CD from the compositionally and melodically oriented, free- improv, genre-bending, collective jazz quartet, once again touching rarely experienced and emotionally beautiful realms.
Rick Savage - trumpet/flugelhorn, Joe Vincent Tranchina - keyboard, Bill McCrossen - bass & Michael D’Agostino - drums.
INNERrOUTe | FOURMATION: An equal mix of improv and fusion leavened with taking their time yields a very interesting new set... Tasty stuff dedicated to pushing the boundaries of where certain forms of jazz lie, this crew gives you an unvarnished and uncommercial look behind the curtain where the muse is what it’s all about. A wonderful, wild ride whose chops keep you riveted throughout. — Chris Spector, midwestrecord.com
