YARDLEY BOROUGH >> Providing yet another fun event in historic downtown Yardley Borough, the inaugural Music on Main performance series starts on June 12 at 15 S. Main Street with local Jazz musicians Mike Hoffmann and Mark Pultorack, both faculty in Bucks County Community College’s music program. They will perform as a guitar and vibraphone duo and their music can be heard and enjoyed by anyone wishing to come to downtown Yardley for a few minutes or the full two hours.
The Music on Main series continues for at least six performances throughout the summer, taking only the weekend of July 4th off, and will present a diverse array of acoustic music and vocals ranging from country to pop, originals to covers, jazz and folk. Performers represent a range of experience, from professional to semi-professional to amateur, and all come from either Bucks County or the greater Philadelphia region.
Music on Main is made possible through the generous support of homegrown Yardley businesses such as Cramer Bakery, Burritos, Yardley Fitness and Firehouse Cycles, as well as ongoing partnerships with Yardley Borough, Yardley Borough Police Department, and the Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County.
“Our downtown is an ideal setting for a high-quality, fun, and free to the public music program,” said Jef Buehler, head of the Yardley Business Enhancement Team (BET) and founder of Music on Main. “Not only does Music on Main give residents, visitors and shoppers yet another great reason to come to Yardley to shop and dine locally, it provides a fun social experience in the borough, exposes people of all ages and backgrounds to different types of live music, and fosters community in the heart of our town. It’s a real win for Yardley’s quality of life and our local economy; the Borough is fully supportive of it.”
