Budapest Cafe Orchestra will be performing at Lyth in June.
A BAND renowned for their delightful mix of gypsy, folk, jazz and European classical music delivered with style and wit are returning to perform in Caithness.
The Budapest Cafe Orchestra have just taken off on their fifth tour of Scotland centring on their new album, and the group’s sixth CD release, The Gaelic Chronicles.
Described by some as one of the best Balkan music playing bands, the group will be visiting Lyth Arts Centre on June 8.
The band, from Harringay, are calling their new album a kind of hymn to an adopted spiritual homeland. The collection of music has resulted from many years of intense touring throughout the Highlands and Islands.
The project contains innovative new arrangements of Gaelic folk song breathing fresh life into great, old songs.
