The Concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir and Show Choir from Knob Noster High School participated in the Music In The Parks competitive music festival hosted at Ozark High School in conjunction with Silver Dollar City May 8-9.
The Concert Band, Jazz Band and Show Choir all earned first place in their respective Class A divisions and the Concert Choir took second place. Concert Band also earned “Overall Best Band,” regardless of classification. Further honors included individual medals for Dejuan Gates (best jazz soloist), Garnett Williams (best vocal soloist), and the show choir combo, “Pacemakers,” (outstanding accompanist).
All four competing ensembles received “Superior” ratings for their performances. This is equivalent to the “I” rating given in the State Large Ensemble Festival sponsored by the Missouri High School Activities Association each year.
