Pete McGuinness - "Voice Like A Horn" (Summit Records)
After many years performing and recording as a NYC-based jazz trombonist, big band composer-arranger, and being involved in jazz education (Professor of Jazz Studies at William Paterson University), Pete McGuinness releases his first CD to fully focus on his jazz singing and high-level vocal improvisation skills with “Voice Like A Horn” (Summit Records).
Winner of the 2010 Jazzmobile vocal competition and a past semi-finalist of the Thelonious Monk Jazz Vocal Competition, Pete McGuinness presents a variety of well-known standards with his own forward-thinking arrangements for this latest CD. Pete’s trio is Ted Kooshian on piano, Andy Eulau on bass, Scott Neumann on drums. Also featured are special guests Jon Gordon on alto saxophone and Bill Mobley on trumpet.
