The musical garden in the George Enescu Square will be hosting the string of outdoor cultural events part of the 2nd ArCuB Live Open Air – Jazz, Blues & More, Bucharest’s only international jazz festival.
ArCuB – the Cultural Projects Center of the Bucharest City Hall – offers you five dynamic jazz evenings and the unique opportunity to watch live recitals by prestigious artists, including British pianist and composer Robert Mitchell, along with Mwamba – an outstanding musician playing a variety of unconventional instruments including vibraphone, dulcimer and several electronic instruments; great Polish trumpet player and composer Tomasz Staako, a jazz legend and European Jazz Festival winner; the famous Medeski Martin & Wood jazz band, known for their inspired improvisations, and James Carter, an emblematic jazz figure.
The Mircea Tiberian-originated Cosmonaut’ Alley project, where Romanian light music hits of the ‘60s and ‘70s and memorable cabaret songs will be given fresh vocal and orchestral treatment, will be a surprise event at this year’s festival. Mircea Tiberian involved several well-known musicians in the project, such as American double bassist Chris Dahlgren and young vocalist Nadia Trohin. The festival program also includes live performances by: Sebastian Spanache Trio, Petrica Andrei Trio, Cristi Soleanu Twin Thoughts International Quartet, Eugen Gondi Trio and Three for Helen.
