Jazz Café hosts night of music, poetry in Detroit

Celebrate the re-release of Kenn Cox's 1972 album "Clap Clap: A Joyful Noise" (Strata Records) and the publication of poet Melba Joyce Boyd's latest book, "Death Dance of a Butterfly" (Past Tents Press) on Thursday at Jazz Café in Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, 350 Madison St. in Detroit.


The Jazz/Poetry Release Party, to begin at 7:30 p.m., is being presented by M.L. Liebler's Detroit Night Live Series.

Book sales will benefit Tech Start Detroit, a nonprofit organization geared toward developing educational skills and cultural awareness among Detroit youth.
