Three-day Kwanzaa Celebration at Reginald F. Lewis Museum


BALTIMORE— Experience three days of arts, crafts and family activities, along with a traditional African music and dance concert by Farafina Kan, a professional West African percussion orchestra from Washington, D.C. The orchestra infuses its sound with reggae, blues, jazz, funk and hip-hop.
Farafina Kan will officiate a Kwanzaa candle-lighting ceremony and community celebration before the concert on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Family activities take place between Wednesday, December 28 and Friday, December 30, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Museum admission is required. Tickets for the dance performance are $8 members, $10 non-members, $5 children 17 and under.
The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is Baltimore’s premier facility highlighting the history and accomplishments of African Americans with a special focus on Maryland’s African American community.
