Laszlo Gardony: Signature Time / Vadim Neselovskyi

Berklee Performance Center
136 Massachusetts Avenue
Boston MA 02115
Pianist/composer Laszlo Gardony celebrates the release of his ninth album, Signature Time(Sunnyside), with his quartet. The album features originals and reworkings of Beatles and jazz classics, paying tribute to African music's profound influence on today's musical genres.

"The lush palette of today's music owes a lot to the birthplace of culture and sound of Africa," Gardony says. "The album is an acknowledgment of how the many genres which draw upon the African musical heritage have enriched my own cultural experience and helped shape my voice so that I can speak to what is relevant to me today." The band consists of Laszlo Gardony (piano/composer/arranger), Stan Strickland (sax, flute, vocals, kalimba), Yoron Israel (drums), and John Lockwood (bass). LGJazz.com.

In the second half of the show, faculty jazz pianist and composer Vadim Neselovskyi, called "the most promising of the young improvisers" by the Guardian, presents his new compositions with an exciting new band. http://www.berklee.edu/events/detail/9873/laszlo-gardony-signature-time-vadim-neselovskyi
