Sourland Mountain Music Festival to hit high notes....

Sourland Planning Council (SPC) has announced a dynamic musical line-up for the Eighth 2011 Music Festival and Silent Auction July 16th. From 4 to 11 p.m. it will be a feast of roots rock, blues, jazz, acoustic and bluegrass jams and more, all from local artists AND all in view of that big beautiful Sourland summer sunset and moonrise!! Performers will include the Mike Montrey Band, VooDUDES, Nasty Ned & Johnny Charles, Wiser Time, and Sandy Zio.

“The festival is a family-friendly day-long event on the polo field of the Hillsborough Country Club overlooking the scenic Sourland Mountain and Amwell Valley. Attendees should bring a blanket and a chair and ‘get your ears on’ for a real treat,” said organizer Tom Kilbourne.

This event is the primary fundraiser each year for the non-profit Sourland Planning Council, an environmental education and advocacy group which works to protect the resources of the Sourland Mountain region.

This year many local painters, poets, and other artists will be contributing to the event’s large silent auction, which will include many one-of-a-kind creations, as well as fantasy vacation rentals, restaurant gift cards, services from area businesses, and much more. Great for gifts!

This is a great opportunity to “go home-grown” with great local music, delicious locally prepared foods, and an auction of great local art and crafts at reasonable prices, all supporting a great local cause.
