Paulo Moura (1932-2010)

Paulo Moura (1932-2010)
A strong gust of the city of Rio de Janeiro announced in the evening the outcome of a slow death ...

On Saturday, July 10, Paulo Moura still managed to summon the strength to play one last song - "Doce de Coco," Jacob's Mandolin and Herminio Bello de Carvalho - with his longtime partner Wagner Tiso, along with his wife Halina, her son Dominic, his nephew Gabriel, friends and admirers, and some patients Clínica São Vicente, amazed that an unusual and poignant musical celebration, organized by musicians Cliff Korman and Humberto Araujo.

A ray of sunshine was the lush foliage jaqueiras a sparkling setting for the balcony of the hospital. The conductor, serene and smiling, wearing a blue shirt and covered her swollen legs with a blanket and inert púpura.

I remembered the last stanza of a poem dedicated to him some years ago, small and inadequate tribute front of the immense joy that his music had given me and the sweet fellowship that I was privileged to enjoy:

mixture and has
conductor
go there
bands
River
Black:
air leads
and blows
where Zoar
Blue Bird
purple

It was late at night, his memory, however, there is never to be silent in our hearts and ears. Paulo Moura is not spent, will not: turned auspicious bird ... for all and forever.
