Felice Reggio (Asti, 1960) graduated in TRUMPET at the STATE CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC “G. VERDI” in TURIN.

Since 1987 he has been member of the S.I.A.E. (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers).
He has improved his theme writing techniques under the guidance of MAESTRO LUIS BACALOV (Oscar award winner for the soundtrack of the film “Il postino” (“The Postman”). He specialized in Music Information Technology with professor G. Capobianco at the “N. Paganini” State Conservatory of Music in Genoa.

He performs in Italy and abroad both under his name (trio, quintet, big band) and featuring as a host in various groups. Over the last few years he has increased his activity as COMPOSER, ARRANGER and ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR. He is the author of a great number of jazz and pop music compositions and sonorizations.
In 1985 he cut his first record “Clara” in a quartet.
In 1988 he composed the background music of the film “Chet’s Romance” directed by French director Bertrand Fevre.
In 1991 he recorded the CD “I Remember Chet” with Nicola Stilo.
In 1992 he took part in the radio competition “Jazz in Diretta” (Live Jazz) organized by Europa Radio Milano, and he qualified among the finalists with the Italian song “Arrivederci” by U. Bindi, which was included in the record “Jazz in Diretta” as the competition prize.
In 1995 he recorded the CD “Three for Chet” with the US pianist Harold Danko.
In 1997 he interpreted Almost Blue by Elvis Costello as the background music for the presentation of the book “ALMOST BLUE” (Einaudi Editore) written by Carlo Lucarelli.
In 1998 he was a member of the examining panel of T.I.M. (International Tournament of Music) (Turin Edition) chaired by Maestro Luigi Fait.
In 1998 he recorded the CD “Blue Eyes” with Renato Sellani and attained widespread critical acclaim.

His numerous arrangements include:
• the original composition “Alleluia” for Symphonic Orchestra and Choir dedicated to Pope John XXIII by Roby Facchinetti and included in the CD “A Man Called John” that is attached to the book (2000);
• the song “Circle of Life” from Disney’s animated film King Lion written by Elton John and interpreted by Ivana Spagna (2000);
• various themes from musicals (Gershwin, Porter, Kern) interpreted by the British singer Susan Daniel and Big Orchestra (2001)

He wrote the arrangements of the most famous themes composed by Maestro Pippo Barzizza and performed by the Big Band of the N. Paganini State Conservatory of Music in Genoa under his conduction on the occasion of the celebrations for the centenary of Barzizza’s birth (2003).

2004
• he took part in the concert “WE ARE THE FUTURE” organized and directed by Quincy Jones at Circo Massimo in Rome;
• he participated in the recording of the CD & DVD “Swingin” by Johnny Dorelli with Maestro Gianni Ferrio’s orchestra;
• he performed as a soloist with the original production “Jazz for Alberto” at Villa Celimontana in Rome, paying homage to Alberto Sordi with the music themes composed by Maestro Piero Piccioni.
2005
• he collaborated in the projects:
LE CITTA’ DEL JAZZ (THE CITIES OF JAZZ)
I GRANDI DEL JAZZ (THE BIG OF JAZZ)
as a soloist and arranger with the MASSIMO NUNZI JAZZ ORCHESTRA at TEATRO SISTINA in ROME.

2006
• he participated in the recording of the CD “Swingin” by Johnny Dorelli, part two, with Maestro Gianni Ferrio’s orchestra;
• he took part in the homage paid to Maestro P. Piccioni by the “ROMA SINFONIETTA” Orchestra conducted by Maestro Gianni Ferrio at the Auditorium of LA SAPIENZA University in Rome;
• he performed with the “Reggio&Jacovella Quintet” at the Jazz House in Rome on the occasion of the International Cinema Festival.

2007
• he composed the arrangements for the project “Mio caro Tenco” (My dear Tenco), an interpretation of Tenco’s songs with jazz arrangements for Big Band and reciting voice performed at the inauguration of the National Festival “L’isola in collina – Tributo a Luigi Tenco” (The Island on the Hill – A tribute to Luigi Tenco);
• he received the award as best composer of the year by director Giancarlo Baudena at the Chiusa Pesio Cinema Festival;
• he took part in the show “Charlot forever” produced by Cinecittà within the framework of the “MusicalCinema” in Orvieto;
• he participated in the concert “Christmas in the Dome” with Michael Bolton and the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra in Milan.

2008
• he took part in the concert “Amedeo Minghi: 40 anni di me con voi” (Amedeo Minghi: 40 years of me with you), during which a CD and a DVD of the event were recorded;
• he was president of the jury panel at the Paolo Martino Prize National Competition – Emerging jazz players;
• he recorded the CD “Mio caro Tenco” (My dear Tenco) for Splasc(h) Records;
• he performed at the “Serravalle Outlet in Jazz” International Festival.
