Humor murderer

RUY CASTRO-Folha de Sao Paulo

RIO DE JANEIRO - It is amazing, but Ronaldo Boscoli, live, would have done 80 years on Tuesday. My friends, near or past that age, will not see anything amazing about it. But the surprise is not in 80 years, but in Ronaldo Boscoli. This age is not it would become. Perhaps it has preferred to take the cap to 65 in 1994.
For those who do not know, Boscoli was the first lyricist of Bossa Nova. They are his "End of Night," "Lobo Bobo", "If You Forgive Me Late," "Oh, if I could," "The Barquinho", "Phone", "Vaguely," "You," "Nós eo Mar "," Rio "and many more, in partnership with Chico Feitosa, Carlos Lyra and Roberto Menescal. All from 1957 to 1965. m so little time, did much good.

And most did not because he was busy waving the flag of the bossa nova, introducing it in the magazines where he worked as a reporter, producing shows and abusing his charm to seduce singers-was engaged to Nara Leão, Maysa boyfriend and husband of Elis Regina . Outside the who won and took, but left the road. The men did not like Ronaldo because he got along well with women. Women idem, for the same reason. But to know him, no one was safe from his power to, in minutes, and attract up to soften the party. Power that, just as suddenly, became a nickname or a fatal short notice, cruel, and hilarious fly on the same party. Behind her back, of course.

His mood was irresponsible, inaccurate, almost homicidal. Ronaldo needed him to live, as well as its power to bewitch. That is why the 80 years did not do well. In later life, sick, emaciated and with visitors in the women's apartment Barramares it applied this harsh self-definition: "I've been a cat. Today, the cat, I only have asthma."
