The renowned pianist Pierre Christophe, accompanied by excellent musicians on drums and Mourad Benhammou Raphaël Dever on bass in his Latin American tour, will be presented for the first time at the Club de Jazz de Santiago, as part of the celebration of 66 years history and development of Jazz in Chile.
Christophe was born in 1969. He studied jazz piano at the National Conservatory of Marseille with Professor Guy LONGNON getting the gold medal in 1991.
Grant from the Ministry of Culture for the development and research in his specialty, he studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York from 1992 to 1994, where he obtained a Bachelor of Music (Bachelor of Music). Continues parallel studies with Jaki Byard et Harold Danko for four years. Since 1995 the show with many artists, both at national and at Eccen International: James SPAULDING, Frank Morgan, Ricky Ford, Pete Christlieb, Gérard Badini, Michel PASTRE, Ulf Wakenius, Géraldine Laurent, Fabien Mary, Sarah Lazarus, Benjamin HERMAN ... and recorded seventeen albums in total.
We could hear it in the North Sea Jazz Festival, festivals in Juan-les-pins, Vienne, Melbourne, Tanger, Bastia, Foix, Marciac ... on Radio France, and the New Morning club in Paris.
HONORS AND AWARDS
Christophe Pierre won the Prix presigioso l'DJANGO REINHARDT 2007 Academy of Jazz (French jazz musician of the year).
He has been nominated in the "DJANGO D'OR 2004" in category "Young Talent" and was lauded in the international contest JAZZ A JUAN REVELATIONS 2005 (category piano).
