89.5 WKSG changes format from Christian music to jazz

Ocala’s WKSG-FM 89.5 is flipping the script.

After 15 years as Daystar Radio and playing contemporary Christian music, the station took on a new format Jan. 1.

The station is now playing a carefully researched and blended mix of big band, smooth jazz and select AAA (Adult Album Alternative) music.

It’s now calling itself “The Boulevard.”

Nationally recognized radio consultant (and Ocala native) Mark Tillery, of J. M. Tillery & Associates, P. A., has been retained to implement this new format.

“There is a major void for this type format,” Tillery said in prepared remarks, “and one word describes the new format: class.”
