Following the tremendous success of its inaugural International Piano Trio Festival in 2014, Ronnie Scott's announces the first wave of acts performing at the International Piano Trio Festival 2015. With a programme of trios from around the world, from jazz legends to rising stars, it continues to celebrate the piano trio both as a driving force in jazz innovation and keeper of the jazz tradition. The festival represents the depth and breadth of the piano scene from modern mavericks and mainstream stars to freewheeling trailblazers, all presented in a series of dynamic double-bill pairings including our festival headline act - the world-renowned ROBERT GLASPER TRIO.

Uk-based trio with a reputation for playful experimentation open up for Robert Glasper – From modal post-bop, Hancock-inspired funk, from solo outpourings to electric bands that blur the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, R&B and rock, the two-time Grammy winning pianist Robert Glasper has inspired a generation. For his appearance at the Piano Trio Festival he returns to his acclaimed acoustic jazz trio presenting material from his new release, 'Covered'. Performing a set featuring songs by hip hop and R&B stars including Kendrick Lemar, John Legend and Bilal alongside classic material.
