It's Friday, so what better day to celebrate Pat Friday, a singer you may have heard but never saw. Friday was a movie voiceover vocalist—the person who sang the songs after actors mouthed the words for the camera.

Friday was the singing voice of Lynn Bari (above) in two films with Glenn Miller—Sun Valley Serenade (1941) and Orchestra Wives (1942). While Bari's eyes smolder in singing scenes, it's Friday's voice you actually hear.
Here's Bari in Sun Valley Serenade (1941) singing I Know Why (And So Do You), with Friday's vocal...
Here's At Last, from Orchestra Wives, with Bari and Glenn Miller vocalist Ray Eberle, featuring Pat Friday singing for Bari and trumpeter Bobby Hackett playing for actor George Montgomery...
And here's Bari in Serenade in Blue from Orchestra Wiveswith Friday's vocal...
