Just Get Lost

Anjù is a singer/songwriter from Germany whose debut album Just Get Lost will be released on August 29th, 2014. It´s being distributed by Timezone Records and will be available in stores nation-wide in Germany and internationally with all major online music retailers.
The style of music is a mix of vocal-based jazzy blues, Jazz-tinged singer/songwriter and velvety, Jazz-influenced blues. The album was recorded at Jambona Lab in Cascina, Italy, by engineer Antonio Castiello. On board are some of the most important musicians of the Tuscan Jazz scene, Silvia Bolognesi (double bass), Andrea Melani (drums), Piergiorgo Pirro (piano), Tony Cattano (trombone) and others.
The 12 songs on the album show musical influences of the different countries and cultures Anjù has lived in and talk about love, life and coming to terms with it all. Songs like “There´s Always Gonna Be Somebody“ bring to mind German influences like Kurt Weill. “Mmmh-Mmh, Mmh-mmh“, “Just Get Lost“ or “What Would I Give” are heavily influenced by her years spent in the USA with their rather bluesy, jazzy but also folksy flair. Her 10 years in Italy opened her up to more “Latin” rhythms like Bossa Nova and the Tango in songs like “Monì” or “When The Sun Comes Up I´m Gone“ and an afternoon in rainy England resulted in the beautiful and melancholic Jazz ballad “English Afternoon“.
Album will be made available upon request. Please write to anju.music1@gmail.com
