Original Dixieland Jass Band (ODJB) was founded in New Orleans in 1916. Their first jazz recording is dated 1917. In late 1917 it changed the name's spelling to "Jazz."

Henry Ragas (piano),
Tony Sbarbaro (drums)
Nick LaRocca (cornet).
