Profile: Composer/Pianist Jason Moran
Jason Moran is an American jazz pianist, composer and educator, heavily involved in multimedia art and the theater.  He recorded with Greg Osby and debuted as a band leader with the 1999 album soundtrack to Human Motion. With eight albums to his name, in 2010, Jason was named a MacArthur Fellow and, in 2013, held residences in SFJAZZ, Julliard and Molde Jazz Festival. He is currently the Artistic Director for Jazz at The Kennedy Center and has composed music for the theatrical production, Seven Guitars, that focuses on seven African-American characters in the '40s. Nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Tony and Drama Desk Awards, Seven Guitars will be presented on stage at Red Bank's Two River Theater starting September 12, 2015.

In the News: Jon Batiste - jazz for the Late Show

When Stephen Colbert takes over the Late Show tonight on CBS, he'll have a new partner in crime on stage: pianist Jon Batiste.
Batiste falls into a long line of jazz musicians to lead bands on late-night television. But this particular fit has a lot of people talking: He and his band are known for their spirit and energy.

Chick Corea and Bela Fleck in Princeton  

It would be hard to name two more iconic, versatile and timely musical artists than Chick Corea and Béla Fleck. Master songwriters, musicians, band leaders and musical innovators each in their own right, they are virtuoso performers from radically different circles who are scheduled to perform at New Jersey's historic McCarter Theater in Princeton later this month. Together, the multiple Grammy-winning duo will present their most recognizable tunes along with music from a 2007 Latin Grammy-winning collaboration, The Enchantment.
