Jon Hendricks ....

The Jazz Drama Program Benefit Gala honoring Jon Hendricks, father of vocalese and Cobi Narita, jazz producer.

for a special evening as some of the greatest musicians and educators in jazz come together to advocate for what JazzTimes calls, “The hippest move in jazz education, ever”. The Jazz Drama Program presents a special evening to support youth involvement and transformation through jazz. The Jazz Drama Program Annual Gala honors vocal jazz legend Jon Hendricks, the father of vocalese and jazz producer Cobi Narita, a vital force in the jazz community for over 50 years.  

"We are super excited to honor one of the greatest jazz singers and composers for jazz singers of all time, Jon Hendricks.  Cobi Narita has been a critical supporter of jazz musicians, especially singers, for decades. Marion Cowings, Jazz Drama students and my quartet will be pulling out all the stops to honor the depth and inspiration of these two great legends!" says Artistic Director, Eli Yamin.

Hosted by Good Morning America's Ron Claiborne, the Gala will take place at Mary Cary Flagler Hall at The DiMenna Center, 450 West 37th St, in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 7-9pm. The proceeds benefit The Jazz Drama Program’s education initiatives. 

Wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres will be served and guests will have an opportunity to interact with the artists.


Admission is $160, $110 is considered a tax deductible contribution. The Jazz Drama Program is a 501c(3) non profit organization.
