5 O'Clock Charlie is the 2nd release from New Orleans keyboardist extraordinaire Charlie Dennard. This recording captures the essence of the jazz organ trio and showcases Dennard's catchy and infectious songwriting skills. In the late 1990′s, Charlie had a standing gig at New Orleans’ famous Funky Butt with his band, then called 5 O’Clock Charlie. This recording marks a return to those roots, just as Charlie has returned to New Orleans after touring the world for the past decade as musical director and keyboardist with Cirque du Soleil. This recording is groove-based, funky and fun.

Dennard's first release entitled "From Brazil to New Orleans" was released in 2014 and is a collection of Brazilian songs performed in a New Orleans style. This cd was in the top 40 on the Jazz Week charts for over a month in 2014 and displays Dennard's multi-keyboard (piano, organ, rhodes, synth, accordion, melodica) and arranging skills on a very high level.
