A Fort Lauderdale native, Parker came to New York in 1999 where he had the opportunity to play with musicians such as Phil Woods, Jane Ira Bloom, Reggie Workman, Charlie Persip , Junior Mance and many others while attending the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

He spent two years with Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau Band, touring in the U.S. and abroad. Matt can be heard on the band's M.F. Horn VI: Live at Ronnie Scott's. You can see Matt performing in NYC with  Hess Is More, The Candy Shop Boys,  2s & 4s and the Mingus Big Band. His debut album Worlds Put Together (BYNK Records) has been receiving rave reviews since its 2013 release.

Downbeat Magazine said Worlds Put Together was one of the Best albums of 2014 “Parker is restlessly inventive…This promising debut makes him an album-maker to keep tabs on.”
