Videos: Dionne Warwick Duets

I'm not quite sure why Dionne Warwick isn't better celebrated today. She had one of the finest and most signature voices of the 1960s, a dry, earthy, powerful sound that continued well into the 1980s and '90s. Her confidence and poise were always regal and remarkable. It's a shame, frankly, especially since her contribution to pop, soul and adult contemporary has been nothing short of extraordinary, starting with her recordings of songs by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Among Dionne's many highlights are her vocal duets with other singing stars and pianists on TV specials. Here are a bunch of videos I found on YouTube the other day. Not all are of the best quality, but they will give you an idea of her vocal brilliance and charm:
