Hi Claudio,
Gleaning influences from architechture and the circus sounds like it's not really a recipe for great music.
Now give that architect and circus fan a Greek childhood comeplete with piano lessons, and maybe send him to LA. How about Boston now, for a doctorate in composition, and let's get him a band with people from Japan, Greece and America. Oh wait, look- he won the Monk competition, and has a composing/bandleading gig with Cirque du Soleil.
Welcome to the bright and vibrant life and imagination of Petros Sakelliou, whose Visual Music Circus (out 3/20) is full of tunes that draw you in for a fine listening experience and, like all good forms of entertainment, leaves you wanting more when it's all done. You'll be putting this one on repeat.
Can I send you a copy? Check out the audio at the link below and let me know what you think.
“I always feel that my music begs for choreography, that there’s some other, very colorful story it projects in the air,” muses the Athens-born composer and pianist Petros Sakelliou. “It feels as if we’re playing for dancers, for something that’s almost visible, almost there.”
