Those who enjoy classic cocktails and jazz music in the style of the 1940s can plan to attend Jazz & Cocktails, a special evening coming to the Nimitz Museum Grand Ballroom in Fredericksburg on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

The inaugural event is designed to evoke the spirit and atmosphere surrounding the World War II era on the home front, according to Brandon Vinyard, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

“As our museum grows we want to reach out to new audiences with fresh new programing,” Vinyard said. “This event will be a fun atmosphere where guests will not only enjoy themselves, but learn a little about the World War II era through the cocktail demonstration and live 1940’s music”.

The night begins at 7:30 p.m. with a special presentation by Philip Greene, writer, cocktail historian, and co-founder of the Museum of the American Cocktail. The popular presenter will demonstrate how to mix famous military cocktails that were popular during the war era, offering sample tastings to guests.
