Hudgins, a senior at North Henderson High in Hendersonville, has spent his high school career playing in the marching, concert, symphonic and jazz bands. He's also been the drummer for the contemporary services at Mud Creek Baptist Church for five years, and played in the local band Black Jack.

How many different bands, at school and elsewhere, have you played in? What was the most you've been in at the same time?

I've been in seven different bands overall, and the most I've been in at one time is three.

What are the major differences between the marching, concert, symphonic and jazz bands at North?

The main differences are the genres of music being performed, and the competitions and festivals attended. The symphonic band plays the hardest competitive level of music available for MPA festival, while the concert band functions the same but plays a lower grade-level of music due to entry-level players.

The marching band performs strictly marching-based shows, and the jazz band performs only jazz music at local venues and competitions
