16 Year Old Guitarist Releases New Album

June 2014 will see the release of 16 year old guitarist Matt Wong’s second album Reflections. To be released independently, this album showcases Matt as a composer and artist in his own right. Comprised of eight originals, and two covers, the concept behind Reflections is completely different from that of Matt’s debut album Fly me to the Moon (2011), which was released to showcase him as a unique guitarist and young performer.

Matt is a fingerstyle guitarist from West Windsor, NJ. Only 16 years old, the teenager is on his way to becoming one of the finest in today's guitar scene. As a performer, Matt currently tours the tri-state area. Highlights of Matt's touring include performing with GRAMMY Award winning guitarist Earl Klugh, sharing the stage with singer/songwriters Sarah Donner, and Avi Wisnia, and performances at notable venues such as the Blue Note Jazz Club (New York City), the Legendary Dobbs (Philadelphia), and The Saint (Asbury Park, NJ). Matt was a 2013 Jersey Acoustic Music Awards nominee.

To celebrate the release of Reflections, Matt will be performing at his CD Release Show on May 31, 2014 at Small World Coffee in Princeton, NJ. Joining him will be Berklee College of Music student and Princeton native Painted Chameleon, as well as many other special guests. Summer tour dates will be announced soon.

On this album, Matt plays a Maton EBG808 Artist acoustic guitar. On The Square Mile (Track 9), Matt uses a semi-hollow Ibanez Artcore guitar for a rare electric guitar solo.
