Back in 2011 George Akins, boss of Nottingham music promotion agency (and Thekla operators) DHP declared his intention to help boost his home town music scene.
Endearing jazz-popsters Dog Is Dead, signed to Atlantic, and young troubadour Jake Bugg are already working on putting Nottingham on the map.
Listen to Harleighblu's debut album Forget Me Not and you'll agree that, if there's any justice, she will be the third dimension in this nascent Nottingham Sound.
The young Harleighblu has been working at her soul-jazz music since she was seven, writing her own songs and winning talent shows. While still barely a teenager, she was working with producers and providing backing vocals while getting her own band together.
