Ariadna is a piano virtuoso, composer and currently one of the most prominent and promising stars of Flamenco. Ariadna Castellanos was born in Madrid, Spain where she started to study piano at the early age of six.
When she was seventeen, her talent and dedication for music rewarded her with a full scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music in London. Even though her training was in classical piano, Ariadna was always a Flamenco girl at heart. After graduating from Guildhall she returned to her native Spain where she started to work with various Flamenco Artists as Niño Josele, Jorge Pardo, Agustín Carbonel “El Bola”, Jesús del Rosario and others.
Once in Spain, Ariadna auditioned to enter the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where she became the first Spaniard in being granted the Presidential Scholarship: The highest scholarship given by the college. Ariadna merges Flamenco & Jazz in order to create a new language, a unique identity. Ariadna blends the new harmonies and modern traditions with the wild passionate essence of Flamenco. Based on her technique, acquired with classical piano training, and her natural sense of improvisation, Ariadna’s performances achieve the highest artistic quality.
Ariadna has appeared all over the world, bringing her innovative style to such venues as the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Monterrey Jazz Festival, Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C, the Agganis Arena in Boston, and the Heineken Jazz Fest in Puerto Rico, where she shared program with artists Paco de Lucía and Michel Camilo.

On February 19, 2013, Universal Music Group Spain released her debut album “Flamenco en Black & White”. Renowned producer/composer and 7 time Latin Grammy award winner Javier Limón (Bebo Valdés, Buika, Paco de Lucía) produced the album. The album also counts with the collaboration of acclaimed Flamenco singer and Grammy Award winner Pepe De Lucía.
Ariadna is an excellent ambassador from Spain in the US; having performed shows for the United Nations in New York & Boston and done a tour for the Spanish Embassy with Javier Limon’s Flamenco Soul Project, Ariadna is leaving her mark all over the world.
