David Amram: The First 80 Years

Documentary on the life of music 82-year-old music legend David Amram, who has played and composed in the genres of jazz, classical, folk, country, and rock and roll, and whose collaborators have included Dizzy Gillespie, Jack Kerouac, Miles Davis, Leonard Bernstein, Eugene Ormandy, Charles Mingus, John Frankenheimer, Langston Hughes, Elia Kazan, Johnny Depp, Hunter S. Thompson, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and Pete Seeger. This film kicks off the four-day David Amram Festival at UNC and in Chapel Hill/Carrboro.
