Ridgefield High School seniorJack Truskowski has been named an All-Eastern Musician and selected as one of two jazz alto saxophonists in the eastern United States to perform at the All-Eastern Music Festival to be held April 4 to 7, in Hartford.
The National Association for Music Education organizes the biennial festival and selects All-Eastern musicians from among All-State musicians in 11 states, the District of Columbia, and Europe.
Jack, who will perform with the 20-member All-Eastern Honors Jazz Ensemble, is a Connecticut All-State Musician on both jazz saxophone and oboe.
He has been a member of Ridgefield High School music ensembles for four years, currently under the direction of Joyce Flanagan and Michael McNamara. This year he is drum major in pep band, lead alto saxophone in jazz band, first chair oboe in symphonic orchestra and pit orchestra, and president of Band Council. He has been a volunteer music tutor and coach for four years at East Ridge and Scotts Ridge middle schools.
