THE JAZZ MUSIC & DANCE WORKSHOP at National Dance Institute

Co-facilitated by long-time collaborators Eli Yamin and Shireen Dickson of The Jazz Drama Program
This weekly workshop is a space for experienced dancers and musicians to experiment, stretch and connect deeply with jazz and each other.  The session is based on improvisational techniques of choreographer Dianne McIntyre and musical collaborators including Olu Dara and Lester Bowie.

Themes include syncopation, groove, texture, tone color, surprise, humor, taking chances and exuberance.  Space is provided for one-to-one dancer/musician play, open jams, critical reflection and peer feedback. Guest music and dance facilitators every week. *minimum donation
