Jazzing it up in Rugby

JAZZ is the latest regular addition to Rugby's music scene.
Rugby Jazz will host its inaugural concert featuring Zara McFarlane at Lawrence Sheriff School on Saturday November 24. It will join Rugby Roots’ regular acoustic folk events and The Vault’s rock music nights.
Young singer McFarlane has been dubbed The New Voice of Jazz, and her debut album Until Tomorrow has received wide critical acclaim, and regular airplay on Jamie Cullum’s BBC Radio 2 show.
She has appeared at several prestigious jazz festivals in Europe, winning praise for her silky, distinctive understated vocals.
Rugby Jazz promoter Chris French, emphasising the evening were not just aimed at jazz fans, said: "We’re very fortunate to get such a promising star as Zara to appear in Rugby, so I hope music lovers of all persuasions will come along."
Tickets, priced £10, are available now online at www.rugbyroots.com, and from Sounds in Church Street.
