SAN ANTONIO -- A new music festival is happening this Labor Day weekend. It’s called the Labor Fest. While it's worth checking out for all the live jazz, R & B, and blues bands, there is a greater meaning to it all. That message is to bring about awareness of HIV and AIDS.
The organizer of Labor Fest, Larry Williams said, “When it hits close to home, you know you get impacted like I did with my grandma. My grandmother was like my mom, she raised me and everything”.
The two day event, held at Sunken Gardens, was created in memory of Williams’ grandmother. She lost her battle with AIDS two years ago after undergoing a blood transfusion.
