Saxophonist Simon Spillett, winner of the rising star category at the 2007 BBC jazz awards, returns to Kingston’s music scene today.
With the rest of his quartet, Spillett will perform at the Boaters jazz night fresh from his critically acclaimed tour of the country’s most popular jazz clubs.
He will be joined on stage by John Critchinson on piano, Paul Morgan on bass and Clark Tracey on drums.
Spillett has been called “one of the most exciting talents to emerge recently in British jazz”.
With a second British jazz award nomination under his belt, he is sure to delight Kingston’s music fans in this much-awaited return.
