Fairfield’s Brian Torff and the Phantom Pluckers entertained at Westport’s Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts. Torff, a jazz double-bassist and composer is Fairfield University’s director of jazz and popular music as well as director of jazz at the Westport Arts Center.
The group includes two of Torff’s students—guitarist Jamie Debicella, and drummer Jon Rivers—plus Torff’s son, Jarryd on tenor sax. Torff has performed with jazz legends Erroll Garner, Cleo Laine, George Shearing and Mel Tormé. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
