On September 7th Barbara Dennerlein’s new CD "Spiritual Movement No. 3" will be released. It is Barbara's 26th CD and it's the third recording with a church organ, the Queen of instruments. Almost two decades ago the organist began to get in touch with pipe organs in churches and concert halls and since then she has gained an outstanding world-wide reputation and success with her concerts. This new CD is a milestone that marks her way beyond the instrument's expressiveness trailing new paths of exciting dialogues between church organ and guitar.
Listen to Barbara Dennerlein's magic performance on the "Rieger" organ that unleashes overflowing richness of sounds and phenomenal grooves. With discreet support by synthesizer sounds she was able to create a new sound cosmos and thus to elaborate the orchestral character of her compositions in magnificient manner. Her open-mindedness for new development in music, not only in jazz, she opens doors for the pipe organ and once again plays the role of a pathfinder for innovation in music.
With her brilliant technique, the ambidextrousness of hands and feet and her characteristic compositions she created an innovative and unmistakable style about three decades ago opening new dimensions for the Hammond organ which has been neglected in jazz for too long. Her music remains unique and outstanding up to now. It's her credit that the organ regained reputation in jazz - not only the Hammond but meanwhlie also the pipe organ.
