World renowned jazz legends play benefit concert to raise funds for arts and music programs in Walnut Creek schools.
Walnut Creek, CA (PRWEB)
There are few benefit concerts that bring together world renowned, award-winning jazz artists with newly discovered protégé talent, to play music for the purpose of preserving arts education in public schools. On Thursday May 3rd, 2012 at the Lesher Center for the Arts, the people of the San Francisco Bay Area have a one-night only opportunity to experience such an event.
Under the direction of Jamie Davis, former vocalist of the Count Basie Orchestra, attendees will enjoy toe-tappin’ jazz that stirs the soul. Jamie not only sings with a velvet smooth voice that has been described as a cross between Lou Rawls and Nat King Cole, he has a heart and passion for showcasing new talent that is on the horizon to become the next generation of jazz legends. He will be joined by trumpeter and two-time Grammy winner, Scotty Barnhart, who continues to tour with the Count Basie Orchestra. Additionally, Greg Errico, founding member of Sly & the Family Stone and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, will be playing drums. These are just a few of the class acts coming to town to benefit classrooms all over Walnut Creek.Click Here to listen to Jamie describe the event in more detail.

About the Unity Music Foundation: The Unity Music Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 organization established in 2011 by Sam Beler, one of the principal founders of Unity Music LLC. The purpose of the Foundation is simply to use music as a key to assist other nonprofit organizations by providing them a means of raising the needed funds to fulfill their mission and purpose. Just as a musical bridge connects two parts of a song, the Unity Music Foundation helps connect the need and potential of an organization to the resources (financial and other) and assistance that others in the community can provide. Our bridge is an event that brings both sides together to raise the much needed funds as well as to create a greater awareness about the organization itself.
