Letter from Barbara Dennerlein
Photo impressions
Photographer Hans-Joachim Maquet released an internet gallery with impressions of the 2011 Jazz Festival in Viersen/Germany. Barbara Dennerlein performed at the Evangelic Church in a two-part concert with pipe organ and Hammond. Maquet added some information about the artists and web links to each photo.

March photo for the desktop calendar
A portrait of Barbara minutes before her concert in Ludwigsburg/Germany 2010 is the motive of the new desktop wallpaper for March. The concert series entitled "Best of Jazz on a Sunday" attracts people, at least jazz fans, to visit a shopping mall on Sunday when shops are closed... As you can see if you look at the photos above this was a good opportunity to observe from the upper floors how the organist's hands twirled over the keyboards of the Hammond B3.

Concerts in March
You have to be quick and you have to be in Hamm/Germany if you want to see and hear the Barbara Dennerlein quartet tonight at the Kurhaus Bad Hamm. Her international quartet with Jörg Kaufmann (Germany, saxophones), Fabiano Pereira (Germany, guitar, vocals) and Drori Mondlak (USA, drums) takes the audience to an exceptional musical journey.
On March 8th Barbara pays at the International Organ Festival at the Church St. Magdalena in Herzogenaurach/Germany on occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Metzler" organ. The audience can watch Barbara's playing via a video transmission to a large screen.
In Halle an der Saale the former Ulrich Church has been converted to a concert hall. Barbara returns to this venue again after four years on March 11th. In 2008 she elated the audience when she made 5,000 pipes of the organ dance to jazz music.
On March 24th Barbara plays two concerts in a row in Noale which is about 20 km from Venice. "High class technique, elegance, royal appearance - Barbara Dennerlein is one of the most fascinating personalities in the world of jazz music." the Italian promoter says. "Her concerts are unique like the vitality, the precision of her play, the mastering of keyboards with the hands and pedals with the feet. Her bass sound is unique." After a pipe organ solo concert at the S. Marco Church Barbara changes location to the discotheque "Night & Day" for a quintet Hammond concert with Beppe Calamosca (trombone), Gianluca Carollo (trumpet), Stefano Olivato (harmonica) and Davide Ragazzoni (drums).
