After a well-received concert in Sterling in 2010, the group is making a reprise performance this Friday at the Sterling Middle School Auditorium. "The Noteables" is known as the "little big band" of the Heartland of American Band. The group has appeared in concert and on national television with such performers as Bob Hope, jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew, former Tonight Show band leader Doc Severinsen, pop singer Lee Greenwood and composer/arranger Frank Mantooth.
The high level of talent showcased by each member of The Noteables enables the group to perform with unparalleled excitement and versatility. With their extensive repertoire of specially tailored standards, energetic favorites and Big Band classics, highlighted by instrumental and vocal soloists, The Noteables is sure to please audiences of any age.
The Noteables, with its parent band, the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band, is based at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
Musicians are fulltime active duty members of the Air Force and have gone through basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
The evening is sponsored by the Sterling Arts Council, the Logan County Lodging Tax Board, the City of Sterling, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
