New York, NY: Nu Jazz Entertainment has just announced that founder & CEO Jerald Miller will be leading and moderating a digital media panel entitled: Developing Non-Popular Music & Catalog Content For The 21st Century on February 23, 2012 for the Digital Music Forum East to be held in New York City at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, as part of the two day Social Music Summit at the Digital Music Forum East.

The panel, the first of its kind in the industry, will primarily focus on how to strengthen digital sales of non-popular genres (jazz, classical, world music, etc.) in the digital realm and how to re-invigorate catalog and deep catalog content across the digital hemisphere in all genres. “For some time now the digital music conferences have neglected music like Jazz and Classical," says Nu Jazz Entertainment founder, Jerald Miller. “Even the major labels have done this. In an age were some of the catalog has been released on vinyl LP, 8-track cassette, then audio cassette, compact disc, and sometimes as digital downloads—there's a real quandary about what can be done with content from the 30's & 40's or even the 80's & 90's to rejuvenate their sales. Our panel addresses not only where you can locate content you may not know about, but cost effective ways you can develop that content into completely new digital assets."

Enlisted to bring their insights on the panel are legendary producer & NEA Jazz Master George Avakian, former Senior VP of A&R at GRP Records & President N-Coded Music , Carl Griffin; Founder of Cyber-NY and iTunes “LP" development specialist Mike Brown, Founder of SpinApps & Fizzkicks.com, a mobile content developer Aaron Burton, and Michael Corcoran, founder of the internet based music promotion firm MusicSUBMIT.com.
