Andres Chaparro's Jazz-Themed Paintings At ArtWalk

When Andres Chaparro dreams of loved ones who have passed away, they always appear with a yellow glow, around their heads or around their bodies. So when he paints, he depicts his subjects — jazz musicians — with that saintly aura.
"I think of jazz musicians as saints. A lot of them had to endure a lot, and to come from that being able to create such beauty, is remarkable," said Chaparro, 48, of Windsor. "That's the one thing all my paintings have in common, that yellow glow."
