The Oct. 15 event benefits Four Paws Rescue, a local nonprofit organization that rescues dogs and cats and places them in responsible homes, said event coordinator Buddy Smith. The ball runs from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Logan Country Club.
Tickets cost $55 each, and 100 percent of that ticket price will benefit Four Paws Rescue. Entertainment, venue rental and other costs have been paid for by Smith allowing ticket cost to go direcyly to the rescue organization.
Richard Hatch will give a magic show Saturday night, the dance band Raindogs will perform, hors d'oeuvres will be served and a silent auction will also take place throughout the evening.
Guests are invited to wear clothing that is “entirely eclectica,” which event coordinator Buddy Smith said can be interpreted to be whatever guests want to wear. Smith predicts he'll see anything from shorts to fancy gowns.
“Last year I wore a tux; it was the second time I ever wore one in my life,” Smith said. “This year I'll be wearing a suit and a tie. I take 'eclectic' just as whatever you want to wear.”
Four Paws Rescue is based in Cache Valley and was started in 2000. Each pet that enters the shelter is spayed or neutered before they are found adoptive homes an effort to control animal populations. The nonprofit is always looking for volunteers and donations. A list of the shelter's needs, as well as upcoming events and pictures of adoptable animals, can be found on the Four Paws website, 4paws.petfinder.com.
