Downtown Detroit is alive with the
sounds of jazz for the Detroit International Jazz Festival. Arlene Lecours of
Sterling Heights comes every year. Sunday she saw Hot Club of Detroit, Airmen
of Note, and Blues Insurgents with Johnny Bassett.
“It’s a wonderful
festival, I think the expansion over the years has been a great thing to
include more of the city … I think it’s done wonders for the city,”
Lecours told WWJ’s Beth Fisher.
Lecours and her
husband checked out the jazz on Campus Martius and Hart Plaza.
Faye Hill of Detroit says she’s
enjoying the music, weather and comes to Jazz Fest every year, and this year
was no different. Jazz Fest, which is free, wraps up on Monday.
