Following sell-out runs at NYC’s Café Carlyle and The Metropolitan Room, a week at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a sell-out tour of Australia, the UK’s foremost song stylist, Barb Jungr will be back in the USA for a series of live dates with her critically acclaimed show The Men I Love (also a new studio album on Naim Records). Don’t miss this sensational performer and winner of two New York awards (Nightlife Award for Outstanding Cabaret Vocalist and a Backstage Award for Best International Artist) at the very top of her game.
“…the brilliant British chanteuse who inserts sticks of emotional dynamite into songs of every vintage…Empathy is her game, and few singers in any genre extend themselves more deeply into the lives of others.” (Stephen Holden – The New York Times)
“This pensive collection hits its stride from the outset, with a brave rendering of Once in a Lifetime – it’s as if David Byrne had fallen into the hands of a Sondheim heroine.” - (The Sunday Times - UK)

As has come to be expected with Barb, The Men I Love displays her impressive ability to re-imagine well-known popular songs, revealing deep meanings and latent emotional content that comes to light when she dislodges the songs from their original contexts. Since its release in March 2010 the CD has received rave reviews and accolades internationally.
The Men I Love comprises songs by Dylan, Cohen, Springsteen, Paul Simon, David Byrne and more in superb new arrangements by Barb and pianist & composer Simon Wallace, with whom Barb previously worked on her best-selling album of Bob Dylan songs and her chansons material for Linn Records.
The pair first performed The Men I Love during a 3-week season at New York’s premier cabaret room, the Café Carlyle, in March 2009. So critically acclaimed and successful was the run that Barb has since returned to New York to reprise the show at The Metropolitan Room and also to present her latest show, River at both the Café Carlyle and The Metropolitan Room.
“The spirited chanteuse sings ditties you’ve heard before but never expected to hear this way. She gets so deep into her material you may get the bends resurfacing…miss her artistry at your peril.” - (David FinkleS, Village Voice)
