Trio PBD was formed in April by Denman Maroney (piano), Bob Meyer (drums), and Ratzo Harris (bass). Master drummer BOB MEYER http://www.bobmeyermusic.com/ has had a long and distinguished career, playing and recording with the likes of Joe Lovano and John Scofield as well as co-leading the groups Jackalope (w/ John Abercrombie and Loren Stillman), The New Quartet (Abercrombie, Adam Kolker, and Johannes Weidenmuller) and his own group, Mount Airy.

Award-winning pianist and composer DENMAN MARONEY uses extended techniques called hyperpiano" and temporal harmony to create music in multiple tempos. Innovative bassist RATZO B. HARRIS applies extended bass techniques in mainstream and avant-garde settings. "Ratzo defies musical gravity as he explores, wanders and expounds upon the outer reaches of his instrument" (Peter La Barbera, The Jazz Zine).

"Pianists have been tinkering with the guts of their instruments for nearly a century now, but it's altogether likely that no one has explored the art of prepared piano as diligently or creatively as ‘hyperpianist' Denman Maroney" (Time Out New York) "Meyer added color changes with his ride cymbal. During [Glen] Moore's bass solo Meyer displayed exceptionally skillful playing, using his snare in clairvoyant unity with Waldron's left-hand comping" (Earshot Jazz - Seattle).
